SKJOLDENÆSHOLMTRAM MUSEUM

18. April 2011

Preparations for the season

At 10.00 am on 24 April, the Danish Tramway Museum at Skjoldenæsholm will open its gates for the new season.

There are lots of preparations which will have to be done first, including track cleaning.

The museum’s track-cleaning vehicle will be drawn out from the depot in April to clean the tracks of fallen leaves and anything else that might interfere with tramway operations.

The track-cleaning vehicle was built in 1949 by Duisburger Verkerhsgesellschaft.

The original track-cleaning vehicles of the Copenhagen Tramway Company were all sent to Alexandria in Egypt, and unfortunately no longer exist.

We look forward to welcoming you to enjoyable visits to the Danish Tramway Museum at Skjoldenæsholm.
