SKJOLDENÆSHOLMTRAM MUSEUM

7. September 2006

100 years in Malmö

The city of Malmö's electric tramway was inaugurated on 20 December 1906.

To mark the occasion, Museispårvägen i Malmö (The Museum Tramway in Malmö) held a celebratory weekend on 2 - 3 September.

The event began with a cavalcade of three trams and three buses, namely:

Trams

MSS 100 from 1906
MSS 20 from 1928
MSS 74 from 1946

Buses

MSS 47 from 1939
MSS 50 from 1958
MSS 201 from 1966

After the cavalcade, the public had the opportunity to ride on the trams and buses; MSS 100 was the first one.

ML 74 was on loan from the Danish Tramway Museum at Skjoldenæsholm, and perhaps the cyclist remembers the days when it used to run on the Limhamn route?
