SKJOLDENÆSHOLMTRAM MUSEUM

23. May 2006

Waiting

23 May 2006 was a day that all of the members of the Danish Tramway Historical Society and the staff of the Tramway Museum Skjoldenæsholm had been looking forward to.

It was the day when HRH Crown Prince Frederik and HRH Crown Princess Mary would be visiting the Tramway Museum to inspect the gift to the couple and HRH Prince Christian.

Extraordinarily, the museum stayed open for all visitors from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.

The sign on the road to the museum's car park marked the special day.

At 10.00 am the door to the museum was opened, and the visitors began to arrive.

It was a long time before the crown prince and princess were due, but many guests already made sure to find themselves a good spot behind the barriers.

Young and old and the Tramway Museum staff all waited for what was to happen.
