Copenhagen - Line no. 5

Line no. 5 was established in 1903 as a result of a need for an extra line near the center of Copenhagen and a line from Copenhagen to one of the suburbs - Brønshøj.

In 1917 line no. 5 was taken over the last horse driven tram line, so it became the only line, which was running through the center of the old Copenhagen.

During the years line no. 5 became the most important tram line of Copenhagen. Line no. 5 should also be the last tram line in Denmark.

The last day the line was running as a tram was April 22. 1972.

Sporvejshistorisk Selskab has published a book and a picture book of Line no. 5
